Internships
Since
1996, Arch Environmental Group has been hiring "Summer Interns" to assist Arch Environmental Group's
full-time consultants with Project Management and Air
Monitoring/Analysis on asbestos abatement projects - mostly within area
school district buildings. Arch Environmental Group consultants and summer
interns are NOT asbestos abatement/removal workers, but rather
technicians that ensure appropriate regulatory compliance, collect air
samples and analyze air samples on project sites.
These internships/summer jobs have been extremely
advantageous to area college students for the following reasons:
-
The positions (typically 4 to 10) are typically available between
Memorial Day and the beginning/mid August. This time period in
optimal for college students looking for summer work.
-
The positions almost always guarantee 40-hour work weeks and most
often offer paid overtime.
-
The position is thought provoking, science related and oriented
towards the motivated and self directed individuals.
-
The position looks great on resumes and can be used towards college
credit. Several past students have acquired credit applied
towards environmental science degrees, industrial hygiene degrees or
general science degrees. Check with your university for
potential credit.
-
All necessary training is provided by Arch Environmental Group at no
cost to the summer assistants. Additionally, summer assistants
are paid during training.
-
For undergraduates - if you enjoy working at Arch Environmental Group and
become a successful member of our summer team you will be invited
back for as many additional summers and you wish. Some past
students have worked four consecutive summers.
Please note that you do not have to be a student to acquire a summer
assistant position. Arch Environmental Group has had several summer
employees that have worked for us for their own personal gratification
or their own personal reasons.
All official applicants MUST meet the following prerequisites:
-
All summer interns must be completely available during the summer
work period. Interns will not be able to take summer classes
due to to the necessary work hours.
-
All summer interns must have a vehicle to transport them and
Arch Environmental Group sample collection and laboratory equipment to the
job sites.
